The incredibly talented, gorgeous, hilarious, and whip-smart cabaret diva Meow Meow is celebrating her birthday today! Happy Birthday Meow Meow! We were extremely lucky to have Meow featured on Get Happy and had a blast accompanying her during her show in Portland this fall. We hope she has a wonderful birthday and can’t wait till we get to see her in Portland again. Happy Birthday!
Two weeks may seem like a long time to wait for the release of Dream a Little Dream, but have no fear, dear friends! You can listen to our cover of ABBA’s “Fernando” right now, courtesy of USA Today. Here’s a blurb from the preview:
“We are always on the search for upbeat party songs,” Amanda von Trapp says of Fernando. “This piece did not begin as a party but it certainly turned into one as we started including more and more instruments. The song went through quite a metamorphosis from when we first heard ABBA’s original Swedish version to what it is now. It is so beautiful in Swedish, and it was one of the most difficult languages we ever had to learn for a song.”

Storm Large’s Valentine’s shows this weekend were a hit! But don’t take our word for it…
“The Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall show — backed by the orchestra as well as her own band and billed as a “Storm Large Valentine” — was a terrific, at times bewilderingly individualistic ride through the holiday’s range of emotions.”
-David Greenwald, The Oregonian
Congrats, Storm! Read Greenwald’s entire review here. Read More...
It’s been a long time coming, but the Get Happy vinyl has finally arrived! (And they’re gorgeous, if we do say so ourselves). We want to thank all of you who have waited so patiently for your order. We’ll begin shipping these out immediately!
Romantic love may come and go, but our love for all of our fans around the world is here to stay. Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! (And a big happy birthday to our one true love, Oregon!)
Friends-of-the-band and three of the most prominent Oregonians — Terry Bean and Governors Barbara Roberts and Ted Kulongoski — stopped by Pink Martini Headquarters this morning for a singalong rehearsal of tomorrow’s musical tribute in honor of Oregon’s 155th birthday. If you’re in Portland tomorrow at noon, stop by the Oregon Historical Society to see the show, enjoy a slice of birthday cake, and hang out with Thomas, Terry, and Gov. Roberts and Kulongoski. Hope to see you there!
